I mentioned in my other blog that Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket was one of 5 artists who joined me (one per day for my first week), to help launch both the alt format and my "More Music in the Morning " show.
Another artist who was gracious with his time to join me on air that first week 7 years ago was Gary Myrick.
Gary has a new CD out called "Forever: Adventures in 12 String" and he sent me my very own copy.
Gary wrote this about his new release: "I recorded totally Analog that’s right to tape as in the old days for Vinyl. Everybody has finally realized that vinyl sounds best so I went into a vintage studio Trident board and recorded to 2 inch tape. I also used a vintage mic for the vocals and guitar all played at the same time so that I could do certain things and feel at one with my instrument..."
The track I'm playing Wednesday in the 9am hour is called "The World Watches On" and is a completely re-imagined version of one of Gary's songs from his previous album "Stand For Love"
"Dwight's Daily Dose of new Music" airs every weekday morning in the 9am hour.
