On this day 9 years ago, I was working at a radio station in Santa Barbara. After I finished work, I got on my bicycle and rode up the hill (only about a mile or two away), with my buddy Bruce and we checked our bikes into the free bike checking area that the Santa Barbara Bowl provides.
We first went backstage to meet up with the co-headliners Colbie Caillet and Gavin DeGraw. I had known Gavin before this day as I had arranged a private listener concert with Gavin and radio winners. I got to meet Colbie for the first time.
Both were gracious with us and the contest winners who had won a "meet-and-greet" as well.
Each did a full set and each joined the other onstage during the sold out concert.
Great time for all of us!
