Sunday was my first trip to Dodger stadium in 9 years!
Here's my review of my experience:
NOTE: The Dodgers have a policy of wearing your mask all the time except when eating and drinking. We only took our masks off for the photos and put them right back on after.
The Good
We all rode up on the train- I highly recommend this method of transportation! The train is always fun and there is a free shuttle that takes you right from the train station to the Centerfield Gate. It's fun and low stress and the Dodger fans you meet are fun to talk baseball with.
The Stadium itself: I have been to a dozen or so MLB stadiums and even though Dodger Stadium is the third oldest stadium, to me it is still one of the best. The recent changes are fun and interesting (you can see a couple of them in the photos below) and the atmosphere is fun and the views are amazing.
We had field level seats and stadium club passes (Thank you Kathy!), and watching from less than ten rows back of the Dodger dugout is epic! You could hear the ball hitting the glove when Justin Turner would field a grounder hit to third base! The stadium club was easy to get in to and the food was great! The view from this area (as you can see in the photos) is spectacular too!
The Bad
The Dodgers lost 7-2...but they had won 9 in a row....you gotta lose one eventually I guess.
The Ugly
Exiting the park at the end of the game was a very unpleasant experience. I knew exactly where the shuttle buses were to pick us up and went straight for that gate, only to be rudely redirected to go in the opposite direction a couple of hundred yards so that we could go out a different exit (that just happens to be right next to another gift shop- crass marketing in my opinion). We then were wrongly directed in the wrong line...TWICE by different attendants who seemed to not care one bit about the directions we asked for. After being in the wrong line we switched to the right line by asking people in line as the attendants would just point and walk away not listening to what we were asking for. The delay cost us to miss our train and we had to wait another 2 hours to get the next train home.
Overall
I love my Dodgers! I'll never stop rooting for the team. I love Dodger stadium. It's a friendly environment and every seat is a good one to watch quality baseball. I hope the Dodgers put a little more training into the post game stadium attendants though, so fans don't have their final experience of the day have to be a negative one.
Go Dodgers!
