There is information floating around, some of which has been reported in major media, that although the Russian government seems to have shut down much of the social media in Russia, they aren't getting to rock band websites who have Russian fans.
Russian citizens who want something other than state controlled media, are now seemingly getting information through rock band websites.
So Rock & Roll can make a play to help the current Ukraine situation.
Rock bands with major followings in Russia can relate stories of truth in that manner and get around the Russian blockade on information.
..and as a fan of rock bands, you can also help. Post links and info on band websites and encourage those bands that you admire to share information as well.
Rock music can inspire and can raise funds, but this is more of a direct avenue to help people in Ukraine by informing those in Russia about what is going on.
Let's hope many rock bands are doing this.. and if so, please show them your support as well.
