"Dwight's Daily Dose of New Music": Supporting SoCal Artists- Lauren Leigh

Starting today and lasting until I run out of this batch of tickets, we are giving away tickets to January shows at the legendary Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. To enter to win just send a pm with your name, email and phone number, along with which show you want to see from the list in my other blog, and I will start announcing winners soon...

Today's featured artist on the Dose is headlining one of those shows.

Here's the info from BellyUp.com of the lineup:

Lauren Leigh

Lauren is a San Diego singer/songwriter and session singer, as well as one of the most-hired performers for cover bands in the county. She was nominated in 2021 by the San Diego Music Awards for her debut EP “Flare” for Best Pop Album and her latest single “Trust Fall” won the award in 2022 for Best Pop Song. You can often catch her live with local tribute acts Pink Froyd and as a guest artist for Back to the Garden. Most recently, she has been added to the cast of Six Strings Society’s 27 Club in the role of Janis Joplin, and is getting ready to release her sophomore album, “Ghost In The Picture”.

Eve Selis

Eve Selis has earned her fair share of honors—she’s won 7 San Diego Music Awards; the Jim Croce Award for Excellence in Music; May 31, 2008 was named Eve Selis Day by the city of San Diego; she was made an honorary Kentucky Colonel by the governor of Kentucky for her song “Russellville;” and in 2011 she played a benefit show with Tom Jones at Abbey Road Studios in London—but ask her what her greatest achievement is and she’ll say it’s the tens of thousands of dollars she’s helped raise for the numerous charities that are near and dear to her heart. Eve Selis is no stranger to Roots music. Her latest CD, See Me With Your Heart, (her 9th studio album), produced by GRAMMY-winner Kenny Greenberg (Allison Moorer, The Mavericks, Joan Baez), delivers 11 songs forged in the fires of physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Greenberg and his team of Nashville’s finest added a new dimension to Selis’ music, creating at once a vast sonic soundscape for her powerhouse vocals and a lush intimate backdrop for the most personal songs of her career. Eve and her family have recently moved to Nashville where she has begun work on her next CD project titled, Dark Sky Blue.

Omo Cloud

Omo Cloud is Cole De La Isla. Having been born and raised by two local musicians, they are no stranger to the great music community of San Diego. Drawing from both personal experiences and imagined perspectives, Cole summons the intrepid nature of the human spirit through their wistful vocal arrangements and insightful lyrics. They are currently recording their first EP and you can keep up with them at @omo.cloud.

Today I featur the song "Black Rose Canyon" off Lauren's recent release "Ghost in the Picture"
