Concert Review: Goo Goo Dolls & O.A.R.- My 1st Time at Five Points

First of all, thank you to my friend Tracey for inviting me to go with her and her group to the show.

This was actually my first concert at Five Points Amphitheater and I was pretty impressed with the venue. Parking was easy and I like the $20 quick exit parking" feature. It was easy to get in and everyone was allowed to "pre-party" on their way in. Security was pretty nice to everyone. The venue is big and spread way out, but it looked like every seat was a decent one. the large screens were also very helpful and used for both bands- something the Chula Vista Amphitheater should learn to do more.

O.A.R. put on a very entertaining show and it was clear that no only was the band really into performing, but also still just as talented as ever delivering on stage. They embraced their hits like "Shattered" as much as their favorites. they even cover Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire"

The Goo Goo Dolls delivered a pretty powerful rock show, but what i was most impressed with was the voice of lead singer John Rzeznik. I have seen this band many times over the last 25 years and this was the best I've heard of John's voice. It was strong and hit every note and he delivered vocally the entire show. I'm not sure if he needed to rest but 3 of the song were sung by bassist Robby Takac- these songs were thoroughly forgettable, even though the rest of the band played furiously through each of those songs.

All in all, it was a great double bill, and concert I would highly recommend....photos below.
