A few weeks ago, while attending the "Same Same But Different" Festival out at Lake Perris (which I consider to be part of the Temecula Valley- hence my use of "Temecula Valley Tuesday" since they played in our area.), I came across a band that had won the SSBD Battle of the Bands. The are called The Diz.
I was very impressed with their commitment and enthusiasm for their music and I am now looking forward to the music release event down at the Kensington Club down near San Diego this Friday.
Today's Dose is their song called "Dazed and Confused"
I asked the band to write and tell me a little about themselves:
Band member Ian sent this to me:
A little bit about us:
We have been together for about 1 year now, I am an engineering PhD student at UCSD and Sky (vocals/guitar/bass) is an undergrad studying cognitive neuroscience and Elise (drums) is an undergrad studying the tech side of music. Will (taller guy guitar/bass) is a recent Berkeley grad and landscape architect I met at a Cory Wong concert. I met Sky at an open mic a lil over a year ago and was floored by how incredible she was and knew I wanted to try and play with her. Sky brought in Elise who she knew through playing with her in a Green Day musical, and I brought in Will who was a good friend and incredible musician and we've kind of been playing everywhere we can since.
