A Message From the Riverside Pride Board of Directors on MLK Day

The following is a message from the Riverside Pride Board of Directors:

Happy New Year! As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day today, we are reminded of the progress we have made as a nation. Unfortunately, we continue to see this progress eroded as the human rights of many communities are under attack. Riverside Pride is committed to partnering with organizations across the region to ensure that the Inland Empire fights back against hate and stands strong behind the marginalized communities most at risk during the incoming Administration. Through both advocacy work and providing safe and joyful space for queer and trans folks to gather and learn about valuable resources at our pride festival and other events, our organization is dedicated to doing our part in making the region inclusive and combating hate. We are stronger together and united we will use our collective power to protect our vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that" - Martin Luther King Jr.

We know the coming weeks may bring uncertainty and fear. If you are having a hard time, help is available.
