One year ago today, I launched a "new" large tandem kayak I called "Big Red 2"
I had a red tandem kayak in the past that I called Big Red. I got several years of great use our of and really liked it. But after many years it got worn and developed a hull leak that made it so that it could barely float anymore..so Big Red got "retired".
Early last year I picked up a free canoe from a neighbor who was moving and couldn't take it with them. Not being a "canoe guy" I wheeled and dealed and traded the canoe for another red tandem kayak. But Big Red 2 sat for awhile. Then I bought a truck so I could load it and take it to the water. One year ago today I did that and it worked fine...it still needed lots of "cosmetics".. but it floated nicely.
But then I picked up a new, blue, even nicer Hobie Tandem Kayak so I sold Big Red 2.... and this summer Big BLUE will get to a marina that Big Red 2 never got to, so my newest kayak will get LOTS of time on the water this summer.

Good bye to Big Red 2, now a couple of young ladies who have it will fix it up and enjoy it as well...
