Desperate Search Continues For Lost Sailer- His Friend David Shares Info

I recieived this message today from my sailing brother David Vidmar about his sailing brother:

On November 11, my brother Mikey—who many of you know from SD Fish and Sips—was fishing off a remote stretch of the Baja coast in his kayak when he sent out a mayday on his radio. He was able to talk with the Coast Guard until his battery died, and since then search teams have been working tirelessly to locate him. These efforts require a lot of resources: fuel, pilots, boats, and equipment.

This photo captures Mikey doing what he loves—fishing with heart and passion. It’s a reminder of the joy he brings to the people around him and the community he’s built.

We’ve set up a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of keeping the search alive. Every donation goes directly toward supporting the crews out there doing the work. Sharing the link and sending good vibes might foster the miracle we need to rescue this San Diego Legend.

Mikey has built a community around fishing, laughter, diet and exercise as a cure for so many of our health problems. Please stay hopeful, keep him in your thoughts, and help us spread the word.
