Best news ever: Life Size 2 is officially happening. Tyra Banks took to Twitter on Monday, July 9 to confirm the amazing news, as well as to reveal that the film is already filming. "It’s time y’all!" She announced. "You’ve waited long enough." As if that news isn't exciting enough on it's own, Tyra also announced who will be replacing Lindsay Lohan as her Life Size co-star. "Could not find one single woman more perfect to co-star with Eve than the magnificently fierce [Francia Raisa]," Tyra said alongside a photo of the two women embracing.
Life Size 2 will premiere on Freeform this December as part of its 25 Days of Christmas lineup. "Eve is back," the official 25 Days of Christmas Twitter account shared with an epic edit of a famous scene from the original film. Eve sits typing a jumble of random letters at her computer in the film, but in Freeform's announcement, she's typing out all the important information for the upcoming film.
Francia is just as excited as Tyra to be a part of the long-awaited sequel. "Cheesin' so hard," she commented on her retweet of Tyra's post. "Can’t believe I get to film one of my childhood favorites."
Entertainment Tonight reports that Francia will play a new character named Grace Manning. In an interesting twist, Grace is the CEO of the toy company that manufactured the original Eve doll. Francia's character will experience a "quarter life crisis" that puts her company in jeopardy. No doubt this is where Eve will come in to teach Grace how to shine bright, shine far.
The casting news will come as a shock to many fans of the original film who have been hoping for a sequel for many years. Tyra has been pretty transparent about the pre-production process, keeping fans in the know about the project's status. She even told Entertainment tonight that Lindsay Lohan, her original co-star, had officially signed on for the project. "I can tell you, we are working on an amazing script," Tyra said. "I've been hitting up Miss Lindsay Lohan in her DMs, like, 'You in, boo?' and I think she is excited to come back."
Things clearly didn't work out, but if anybody is fit to step up to the plate it's definitely Francia Raisa. She's killing it right now on Freeform's hit show grown-ish, so she's already familiar with the network bringing Eve to life for a second time. We'll just have to wait until December to see what antics Grace and Eve get up to in Life Size 2.
