Kelly Ripa Joins Riverdale Cast To Play Mark Consuelos' Mistress

Riverdale is getting a new cast member, making it three members of the Consuelos family taking to the show. 

Years after meeting and falling in love on the set of All My Children, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are finally heading back to television together. Ripa will join the cast of Riverdale to play her husband's mistress. Ripa announced her new role on Instagram Tuesday. "It’s a family affair........Hiram’s mistress," says Ripa, "23 years of auditioning for a role i was born to play. Coming soon to the @thecwriverdale."

Mark, 4 joined the CW's hit series in season 2 playing Hiram Lodge, who can be described as a harsh businessman trying to take over the town of Riverdale. Kelly will star as Mrs. Mulwray, described by Entertainment Weekly as a. The character is also described as “Confident and tough… she’s a beautiful, icy, femme fatale who gets caught up in a conspiracy that’s much bigger than she initially realized." 

This isn't the first time we will see a member of the Consuelos family on the show. Michael Consuelos, 21, joined the cast to play a young Hiram. Kelly and Mark took to Instagram to share their congrats to their son writing: 

“Bucket list moment for Mom and Dad,” Consuelos wrote on his Instagram. “Congrats to my son Michael on being cast as the younger (and much better and handsomer) Hiram. We are so proud. Love you MJC #riverdale #bucketlist”

“Congrats Michael on being cast as young Hiram Lodge on @thecwriverdale,” Ripa wrote. “However @instasuelos and I would like to take this opportunity to remind you and your siblings that as your fiduciaries we are hereby entitled to 10% of all future earnings hereto wit, or something like that.”

Well we can't wait to see the real-life couple take to the screen together once again. Kelly is the perfect person to play her husband's mistress!
