Jon Gosselin Wins Sole Custody Of Son Collin Gosselin

Jon Gosselin won sole custody of his 14-year-old son Collin Gosselin on Tuesday (Dec. 4). Jon was awarded the ruling in his ex-wife's absence. Kate Gosselin and her lawyer reportedly did not show up for the scheduled court date. According to Us Weekly, Kate requested the hearing to be rescheduled to a later date, however, it moved ahead without her.

"Jon won sole physical and sole legal custody of Collin,” Us Weekly's source elaborated. “All other matters were moved to a future court date."

After Jon and Kate's split, Kate was awarded full custody of their now 14-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Joel, Collin, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah, as well as their now 18-year-old twins, Cara and Mady. Jon received shared physical custody. Hannah and Collin are reportedly the only Gosselin children currently on good terms with their dad.

Collin has been receiving treatment for behavior issues for the past few years, as reported by People. Kate told the magazine back in 2016 that her son is "in a program that is helping him learn the skills he needs to be the best him he can be." The program is away from home, which Kate admitted "it’s been hard because there is a huge hole in our family without him here. But it comforts us to know he’s where he needs to be right now, and I can feel good about that."

Jon filed for sole legal and physical of Collin in November. Now that Jon has been awarded custody of Collin as his inpatient treatment program wraps up, it's possible that he will live with Jon and his sister Hannah full time. The rest of us siblings live with Kate.
