Reese Witherspoon Teases 'Legally Blonde' Cast Reunion

The Legally Blonde cast is finally reuniting after 20 years.

On Monday (October 19), Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram to share the exciting news. The beloved comedy, which originally debuted 2001, follows former sorority girl Elle Woods in her first year at Harvard Law School. A sequel, titled Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Legally Blonde, followed in 2003. Two decades later, Witherspoon's Elle Woods remains an iconic figure in pop culture.

"Ohmigod you guys!! It’s a Legally Blonde Reunion," Witherspoon captioned her Instagram teaser. "We laughed, we cried and we may or may not have done the bend & snap for old times sake! PS: Don’t you want to see if Elle & Warner finally make up?"

The reunion, which will benefit World Central Kitchen, is set to premiere on Tuesday (October 20) on Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine YouTube Channel at 6:15 PM ET/3:15 PM PT. In addition to Witherspoon, Selma Blair (Vivian Kensington), Jessica Cauffiel (Margot), Jennifer Coolidge (Paulette Bonafonté), Matthew Davis (Warner Huntington III), Ali Larter (Brooke Taylor Windham), Holland Taylor (Professor Stromwell), Alanna Ubach (Serena McGuire) and Luke Wilson (Emmett Richmond) are participating in the special.

The unscripted cast reunion will surely tide fans over as the patiently wait for the upcoming third installment of the Legally Blonde franchise. Back in May, Witherspoon announced Mindy Kaling had signed on to write the script for Legally Blonde 3. Brooklyn Nine-Nineco-creator Dan Goor will co-write with Kaling, as well.
