It's the night before Imagine Dragons release their sixth studio album LOOM, and the band's celebrating with an exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Party. The intimate event, hosted by Booker & Stryker, featured a Q&A with Dan Reynolds and company, as well as a six-song performance including never-before-heard songs off the album ("Take Me to the Beach," "Wake Up," and "Fire in the Hills"). During the Q&A, Reynolds was asked why this album comprises nine songs when its predecessor Mercury — Acts 1 & 2 was a sprawling double album featuring 32 tracks all together.
After revealing that he actually had "over 100" songs to choose from for LOOM, the frontman explained how Weezer inspired him to make a more concise album this time around. "We wanted to make a record that was concise, that was re-playable," Reynolds said. "One of my favorite records growing up was The Blue Album by Weezer, and you would just listen from start to finish and there was actually a lot going on but there was no fat…we wanted to do that on this record."
Next month, Imagine Dragons plan to hit the road for their "biggest North American headline tour to date" in support of LOOM. Fans can catch the full Album Release Party with Imagine Dragons live in July, in VR only on Meta Horizon Worlds. See the full setlist below.
