Just yesterday, Korn announced that Guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer had tested positive for Covid-19. Without announcing his replacement, Korn has decided to continue the tour without him. It’s unclear how many dates they anticipate he will miss and if he is experiencing symptoms at this time.
The tour is already without bassist Fieldy, (Ra Diaz of Suicidal Tendencies has been filling in), and just two weeks ago, Singer Jonathan Davis tested positive. He’s continuing to battle through the lingering effects of the virus. He has been reported to require supplemental oxygen and takes breaks sitting on a custom throne.
At their show at the Pavilion at Starlake on September 3rd, Jonathan addressed the crowd before launching into “Falling Away From Me,” saying "It feels so good to be back, y'all. Some of you might know, some of you don't, but I'm recovering. I got COVID, and that sh*t kicked my motherf***ing *ss. But I decided I'm not gonna f***ing cancel. … So I might be standing up, I might be sitting in my chair, but I'm gonna give you a hundred motherf***ing percent. So let's scream and have a good motherf***ing time tonight.”
