Taking a Ride on a Giant Jet Boat

If you've ever been on or around San Diego Bay you've probably seen the big giant Patriot Jet Boat racing around and making big splashes..and big wakes for all the boats near it.

Recently a few friends of mine and I decided to try it out....and we were not disappointed!

At first it seemed a little tamer than it looked from being on another boat (I sail with friends on the bay frequently), but then they do "kick it up a notch!

Hard turns and nose dives and great fun!

Some tips if you decide to go:

Take the plastic jackets they give out and put them on- as you can see by the photo my friend Cindy who didn't take one, was drenched...and from what I learned...the hotter the day...they more they create the SPLASH effects on their turns...

If you wear glasses, strap them on... and forget about hats...if you are wearing one you will lose it for sure!

Get there early and take the seats near the front...more to see...more exciting to ride and actually less dowsing of water....if you get there late and have to sit in the back...not a lot to see and you will be twice as drenched as my friend was...

It's kinda like riding a jet ski....but with 50 or 60 strangers....
