A Special Message About Get Shamrocked

The following is a special message from the folks bringing you the Get Shamrocked Festival this weekend:

THE CULLEN CONNOLLY STAGE

For those of you that have never been to Get Shamrocked we think it is very important why you know we name our stage after Cullen Connolly. Cullen lost his life in May 2015 to a drunk driver who failed to stop at a red light and rear ended the car. Cullen had a neuromuscular disorder and this never stopped Cullen from enjoying life to the full and one of the big passions in his life was his love of Irish music, especially THE MAHONES, Young Dubliners & Gaelic Storm. His parents Jeff & Lisa are wonderful people and for some reason in the depths of their grief they felt drawn to attend the festival mainly due to our support of Tiffany's Gift another youngster who lost her live to a drunk driver. Our message is simple come and enjoy a great festival and make sure that you enjoy it responsibly and make arrangements to get back to your home or hotel safely. Over the last two years we have got to know the Connolly family and naming the stage after Cullen is a small gesture on our behalf but we keep his name and spirit alive and every band stepping out on that stage will know his name and give that little bit extra in their performance in his memory. We know something greater brought us all together and we thank you for reading and thank you for all your support in the past. If you didn't know all the tips taken at the bar go to Tiffany's Giftas we feel it is so important to support drinking responsibly.

See you all at the festival this weekend.
