Utilizing Measure S funds, the City is opening Roripaugh Ranch Fire Station and hiring additional fire personnel including two Captains, an Engineer, an Engineer Medic, two Firefighter II, two Firefighter II Medics, as well as additional Fire Systems Inspectors.  Measure S is also funding other Temecula Fire Department improvements including a new ladder truck, four new fire inspection vehicles, and upgrades to the training room at the Pauba Road Fire Station.

“The need for fire protection cannot be overstated as tragically revealed by the ongoing wildfire devastation throughout California, and here locally,” states 2018 Mayor Matt Rahn.  “I’m proud of our citizens for supporting Measure S which is allowing the City to significantly increase fire protection by opening Fire Station #95, and staffing it accordingly,” added Rahn.

The City of Temecula maintains fire staffing levels of 4-persons per engine for the safety of its citizens.  When fewer than four firefighters arrive on a fire scene, they are faced with the critical dilemma to delay the interior fire attack until additional resources arrive, causing further fire damage.  Maintaining fire staffing levels of 4-persons per engine allows for the fastest, safest, and highest level of fire safety.  Roripaugh Ranch Fire Station will be the City of Temecula’s fifth fire station adding to the other four stations which are located throughout the City as follows: (1) in Old Town, (2) on Enterprise Circle West within the City’s Uptown Temecula Commercial District, (3) on Pauba Road near the library, and (4) in Wolf Creek.
