Friday Flashback: Night Biking

It's been a while... 3 years today since my bike crew did this, but we used to do it all the time. ..

First, we'd look for "Louie the Light Guy"- a guy who would ride his "swing bike" around with a rubber horses head on his handlebars (if I can find a pic of that I'll update this blog). He put lights on our bike wheels to go with whatever lights "Larry the Liquidator" would put on the bike frames...

Then it was off to ride...usually on the Mission Beach's a different experience riding at night. Less people, but the people you'd run into were usually partying, and quite amazed at the circle swing bikes lighting up the night. Sometimes we'd even venture out on to the sandy beach...although this isn't something I'd recommend.

Our favorite times were riding by the beach condo parties...we'd stop riding forward and start circle riding in front of the party....this would usually get us an invitation to come in or at least have a "beverage" while we explained how we rode "those crazy bikes"

I may have to "light up the night" again soon with my swing bike crew...if I will be next....In the are some pics:
