Juiced Up Bike Riding..with Electricity

Full disclosure: I was NOT paid for this blog and I did NOT receive any kind of free or discounted bike rental when doing this activity.

Those of you who follow my blogging know that biking is my most common fun activity. Usually it's all about swing biking, but this weekend, my friends Candace and Joy and I decided to visit Coronado Island and rent electric bikes.

I've ridden electric bikes before, so I knew what I was in for. This experience did not disappoint.

Joy had done the research and found a convenient place on Coronado Island called Pedego, so we went there. There were extremely helpful in showing my friends and I how the bike worked. It's not hard to figure them out, but you do have to be aware that electric bikes go much faster than regular bikes...just a turn of the wrist and off you go!

If you ever want to take a tour around Coronado Island, I would highly recommend doing it by electric bike. You won't tire out, and you can cover a lot of the area very quickly.

Coronado Island is not nearly as bike tourist friendly as places like Mission Bay or Mission Beach or even Oceanside, but there is a great bike path that starts on the east end of the island (not really an island as Coronado is actually an isthmus), goes south then under the Coronado Bridge where it come down on Coronado Island and then west almost to the ocean side. That's the best part of the ride. The rest of your ride would be on streets, which is also fun if you like looking at all the beautiful houses as you ride through the neighborhoods.

If exploring Coronado Island by electric bike interests you, I would recommend Pedego and you can see all they have to offer at PedegoCoronado.com
