Friday Flashback: Disneyland Prices 55 Years Ago

With the news that Disneyland is going to again raise prices, I was reminded of a little piece of Disneyland history that I had.....

My grandfather did carpentry work and was part of the original crew that worked on Disneyland before it opened in 1955. My grandparents and my parents all got o experience the park the day BEFORE it opened to the public.

It'd be more than another decade before I was born and l'd be old enough to go, but in that time my mom saved a few Disneyland items one of which was this price sheet from when Disneyland had one admission price and then lettered tickets prices for individual rides..that's where the phrase "E-Ticket" ride came from...because the best rides all required an "E Ticket".

Times have certainly changed in the last half century,,,
