Happy 37th birthday to an artist who grew up down in San Diego county, Adam Lambert.
The huge singing star that has most famously toured as the singer for Queen actually came in SECOND on American Idol, "(I'll bet 95% of people don't know who won....I can't remember either except it was some kid from Arkansas)
During the filming of American Idol, when the show filmed the vignette of the finalists homecoming I happen to run into Adam....
I was riding my bike down the PB Boardwalk and just as I passed Hamel's I saw young Adam getting out of a limo. No one noticed right away who this brand new TV star was, so I rode over and acted like a fan and did the selfie photo thing. Adam was a nice kid who seemed confident, but not arrogant.
Within seconds of taking these selfies, the crowd enveloped us and the security had to intervene and take Adam off to finish filming his TV segment.
Adam Lambert joins Chris Daughtry as the most famous (and in my opinion most talented) American Idol contestants to NOT win the competition.
