Happy 55th Birthday to Ranking Roger (born as Roger Charlery on this date).
Roger was an original member of both the original English Beat and then with General Public, then as a solo artist, and now back touring the UK as "The Beat" (not to be confused with "the English beat starring Dave Wakeling"- the band that you see in California a few times a year.
Roger also toured as a guest "toaster" with Big Audio Dynamite in the mid 1990's too...
Currently Roger is battling cancer and taking time off, so keep him in your thoughts...
