Artist Profile: Toad the Wet Sprocket

Toad the Wet Sprocket is playing at the Belly Up on June 5th, and you can win tickets to the show this Saturday at Grocery Outlet between noon and 2pm.

Below is a pic from when Glenn Phillips joined me in the studio. Glen was nice enough to be one of the 1st interviews I did in the first week of Radio 94/5 nearly 5 years ago.

Toad the Wet Sprocket was formed in 1986.

They took their name from a Monty Python comedy sketch called "Rock Notes" in which a journalist delivers a nonsensical music news report:

Most of the bands success came in the 1990's with hits like d "Walk on the Ocean", "All I Want", "Something's Always Wrong", "Fall Down", and "Good Intentions:.

The band broke up in 1998 but have since reunited several times to both tour and record music. Along side Toad, Glen Phillips has recorded a few solo releases as well.
