Celebrate English Culture at Temecula’s Second Saturday Event on Sept. 14

Temecula’s popular monthly program, Second Saturday, will explore English culture on September 14, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Temecula Valley Museum (28314 Mercedes Street). This event will feature refreshments, activities and live entertainment celebrating the country of England.

The event will offer guests the opportunity to experience England through tea, music, art, crafts, and some fun facts as well. For instance, did you know that the flag of England is not the ‘Union Jack’? The event will feature tastes of English tea, provided by Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants, with live music provided by violinist Miren Edelstein of Left Coast Quintet. Guests can also challenge each other with a quiz on the meaning of phrases from England.

Children will enjoy a craft project featuring Queen Elizabeth’s most beloved dog breed, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and guests can participate in a free Bigfoot Art Class in the museum’s Art and Education Room, learning to create pop art featuring England’s iconic architecture. A variety of tea and treats will be available for tasting (while supplies last). At the end of their English experience, guests can take a photo with family and friends at our photo wall to commemorate their visit to merry old England at the Temecula Valley Museum.

Second Saturday is part of the Temecula Valley Museum’s educational and cultural offerings for the community, celebrating the history and heritage of the various and diverse cultures that live in the Temecula Valley. The goal of this program is to embrace diversity and celebrate contemporary life in Temecula. For more information on this event or other offerings at the Temecula Valley Museum, please visit www.TemeculaValleyMuseum.org or call (951) 694-6450.
