When I went from college to my first job in a commercial radio station, I had to drive to another country to go to work..namely... TJ in Mexico.
Every time I went on air I had to cross the border...twice..and I had to drive (or ride my motorcycle) up a very STEEP cobblestone covered road with a 100 foot cliff on one side to get to the top where the transmitter and on air studio was located. There was no guard rail between me and that 100 foot drop.
When it rained and I was on my motorcycle, the road was slippery and I came way too close to that cliff a few times!
That's how dedicated to my career in radio I was....
Or I was just crazy....but I survived.
