We have been seeing a pattern of repeat questions from our Community. We will compile these questions and Answers and will send them out via this e-blast on a regular basis.

Q) Where can I get the latest information on applying for unemployment, disability or paid family leave? 

(A) The Governor has released a new for COVID-19 resources.https://www.covid19.ca.gov/  These specific items may be of interest to you on the website: 

•            Apply for unemployment

•            Apply for disability benefits

•            Apply for paid family leave

(Q) Where can I find the most accurate information about the current Order to "Stay Home" and how long will this Order last?This Order went into effect on the evening of Thursday, March 19, 2020, and remains in place until further notice. The California Department of Health and State of California issued the Order so their websites have the most accurate information. We also suggest monitoring this webpage. Today, additional clarity about the Order was added:

(Q) Is the Old Town Farmers Market open? 

(A) Yes, the Old Town Farmers’ Market plans to be open. They are classified under essential shopping and permitted under the Health Dept Orders. For their latest updates, please refer to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/oldtownfarmersmarket/

(Q) Does the City need volunteers to help with Senior Citizens? 

(A) The City appreciates everyone’s desire to help; however we are attending to essential functions during this time and unable to coordinate volunteers safely. Please stay home and consider reaching out via phone to any seniors or other at-risk individuals you know who may be home bound and isolated.

Also, the meals for curbside pickup at the Mary Phillips Senior Center is staffed by City employees. The home delivered meals program is administered by the County. We are working with Community Mission of Hope, Temecula Rotary and other charitable organizations to provide services to deliver medicine, groceries and toiletries.

(Q) How can I reserve a meal for a Senior Citizen? 

(A) Reservations for meals for the curbside pickup program should be made before 10am on Thursday each week by calling Senior Center at 951-694-6464. Applications can be found online at www.temeculaca.gov/487/daily-senior-nutrition-program.

(Q) What if I feel sick, have a fever, cough and/or want to be tested for COVID-19? 

(A) Riverside University Health System- Public Health, the official public health authority for our region, suggests that you (1) Call your primary doctor or medical provider to discuss your symptoms/history (2) Your doctor/medical provider will discuss testing with Public Health.
