On This Day, exactly 30 years ago, Depeche Mode played the 3rd of 3 shows at the San Diego Sports Arena.
Three sold out shows over three nights, with some "clubbing" going on by the band during their stay- that's all I can say about that...
I was also backstage for a couple of interviews...the only time sometook a picture was when I was next to San Diego radio legend Steve West (RIP 2020) while he was interviewing Martin Gore..Steve would execute the live interviews and I would record a second interview afterwords that i would use to produce an hour long show called "Backstage Pass" (I still have that interview with Martin). There I was...as a teenager..backstage during a legendary DM tour..
