Born on this day in 1960 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Steve later immigrated with his family to Southern California where he first became known as one of the two members of the band The Rugburns.
Poltz catapulted to some national attention by being an early mentor and co-songwriter with Jewel whom he was in a relationship with for several of the early years of her career.
Recently Steve has been one of the many artists taking advantage of a new trend that was happening before the pandemic of "living room concerts" literally playing in people's living rooms and backyard across the country. The photo below is at one of those performances I attended down in San Diego.
