"Dwight's Daily Dose of New Music": I Hope You Didn't Miss This One

Today's Dose is a touching tribute to the besieged President of Ukraine and it comes from Five For Fighting.

The following info comes from M-M Music:

John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting released a new song dedicated to Ukrainian President Zelensky titled “Can One Man Save The World?”. Within 24 hours the song had taken the internet by storm with hundreds of thousands of views and continues to go viral both in the U.S. and Internationally.

Says Ondrasik, “Like so many, I am inspired and in awe of President Zelensky, his wife Olena, and the Ukrainian people. Their courage and fortitude in the face of Putin's atrocities and ambition is heroic and historic. I have seen how music can reach hearts and move mountains, even for those behind walls. I felt compelled to write a song to help shine the light on Zelensky and Ukraine's stand for freedom. Can one person save the world? Only if courage is contagious."

"I initially had no intent of taking the song to radio but considering the response worldwide and the urgency of the message, I thought I'd make AAA aware of the tune. I'm pleased to see how many of my friends who were critical in launching my career back in the day with "Easy Tonight" are still in the business of supporting songwriters! I can't believe it's been 20 years since Superman and it's a bit surreal at this point in my life to have a song recognizing a real-life Superman in Zelensky. That said, at this critical point in history, I believe each one of our voices matters more than ever.

John Ondrasik is the songwriter and performer known as the platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated, Five For Fighting.  In the two decades since his first major single, “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” hit the stratosphere, to date, Five For Fighting, has released six studio LPs, including the platinum certified America Town and The Battle for Everything; and the top-10 charting Two Lights, along with an EP and live albums.
