"Same Same But Different" What's New in 2022

Recently I had Brad Sweet on the radio. He is the founder and man who makes it all happen at the Same Same But Different Festival. he told us about some of what's new in 2022.

I asked Torrey, who's been providing us with so much useful information to help get you ready for this years festival for even more great news...thanks Torrey! :

New Activations in 2022

Answers by Brad Sweet, CEO and Co-founder of Same Same But Different

In 2022, SSBD will be a bigger, better version of the festival our community already loves. We have a lot of new features this year and a few updated favorites that returning guests will recognize.

To start, we’re setting up SSBD on Moreno Beach, a larger, palm tree-dotted shoreline within the park with upgraded amenities such as lush grass areas, electric car camping, backstage VIP experiences, state park-maintained bathrooms and showers, RV parking and hookups, parking shuttles and more.

One of the most exciting new activations festival goers will see this year is a waterfront, misted lounge where guests may order cannabis to be delivered to them onsite, including a range of flower, cartridges, gummies and more. The 100x100 ft. shaded lounge will be a relaxing atmosphere for guests to catch a break from the festival with cannabis-inspired interactive experiences and more until 10 p.m.

Our beloved Coconut Club will return as an enhanced, one-story stage design on the sandy shores of Moreno Beach. The entire stage will be shaded and lead right up to the water so that people can stay cool while dancing on the sand or in the water on floats. We’re also excited about the Coco Bar, where we’ll have a fully stocked bar and fresh coconuts to keep people hydrated.

The But Stage, which was the But Jungle last year, will be back in 2022 as the But Circus, a circus-themed stage with DJs and surprise performances from an 11-piece brass band, a ring master and more you’ll just have to be there to see.

Other activations for guests to explore this year include the Groove Grove where they can jam on musical instruments such as drums and keyboards that are built into the trees; Discopia, a beachside music dome with daily disco sets by Soundboks; and the Color Forest where guests can watch artists live painting that will all be on display during a sunset artwalk on Sunday.

We’re also elevating our VIP experience. The private lounge is designed to make guests feel as if they’re transported to the beaches of Tulum. Beautiful rugs, draped fabrics, tropical plants and macrame accessories will create a welcoming atmosphere where VIPs will want to gather and hang out between sets.

I'll be giving your more updates both on air and in blogs each day as we get closer to the start....It all starts Thursday! For more info and tickets go to
