City of Temecula Military Banner Program

Here is the info from the City of Temecula:

Banners display the official military photo of the service person, as well as their name and branch of the United States Armed Forces.

 Cost: There is no cost to the honoree or the applicant for this program.

Criteria

To qualify for the Military Banner Program, the following criteria must be met:

  • The honoree is an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces.
  • The applicant must be a current resident of Temecula (priority is given to honorees that currently reside in the City Limits of Temecula). Addresses located outside of the City Limits (unincorporated areas) are considered Non-residents. These unincorporated areas include, but are not limited to: De Luz, Silverhawk, French Valley, Morgan Hill, and other nearby communities. Process

  • Before starting the Application Process, confirm that you are a Resident and live inside the City Limits. Addresses located outside of the City Limits (unincorporated areas) are considered Non-residents. These unincorporated areas include, but are not limited to: De Luz, Silverhawk, French Valley, Morgan Hill, and other nearby communities.   • Complete and submit the online application.
  • Applications must include:  proof of active duty status, proof of applicant's residency and an 8X10 or minimum 300 dpi digital quality photo.
  • Banners will be raised in the order that the application and all required documents are received.
  • Priority will be given to active military members that reside in the City of Temecula.

Requirements

Applications must include:

  • An official military photo of the honoree - minimum 8x10 or 300 dpi digital photo
  • Verification of military status:

Copy of current Military ID Card

               OR

Online: Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)

  • Proof of residency - Copy of Drivers License or Current Utility Bill (With Applicants Name Listed)

Installation

Banners will be located throughout Old Town Main and Front Streets and the Civic Center Plaza. Banners will be installed periodically throughout the year, and will be displayed for a period of eight to nineteen months dependent on installation date. After this time period, banners will be presented to the honoree (or applicant) at the City's annual Veterans Day Event.
