I just got back from my too brief trip to Cabo San Lucas and I have a couple of suggestions for you if you happen to travel down there...
Check prices of food and fun BEFORE you buy. There is a HUGE difference in prices at restaurants, adventures, and for stuff you buy in store or on the street.
Also, ask before you go if you want an onsite activity. I wanted to pickle ball where I stayed and let's just say...it didn't work out.
Also: al lot of the traditional type places that people went to (Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin, Squid Roe), are all still there, but I found that new places have surpassed those as the "go-to" places to see.
One example- Everyone says "go the The Office". The Office is a restaurant right on the beach that I've gone to for decades. But now we walk right by the Office on our way to Mangos- the "go-to" place now. Mangos was crowded, fun, and clearly the best place to go of many on the beach now. The day we went the Office was basically empty.
Also, "glass bottom kayaks" are basically worthless. We thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking adventure, but a plastic piece in the bottom that you can't see through in NO WAY means "glass bottom".
I do recommend the evening cruises. It's the best way, especially for first timers to see all that is Cabo. As I already wrote- shop for pricing and make sure "The Arch" is included.
Here's a batch of photos from my trip.
