A great many things had to go a certain way for the USC Trojan Football team to be where they are right now- on the verge of going to their first BCS final 4!
First, and most important, the Trojans had to take care of business and beat #18 Notre Dame. They did that thoroughly 38-37 ...and it wasn't that close.
Sitting at #6 in the BCS poll, USC need a couple of losses. One of them was for sure to happen as 2 teams ahead of them played each other. With Michigan's second half demolition of Ohio State, the Buckeyes poorly played themselves OUT of the BCS. Then LSU got upset by Texas A & M.
Next came the perfect cherry on top: Oregon had to lose to Oregon State for the Trojans to play and avenge their only 1 point loss of the season by playing that team: Utah. Oregon blew a 3 touchdown lead, Oregon State won the game...and here we are!
USC play Utah this Friday in the Pac 12 Championship Game. If they win they are IN the Final Four for the BCS Championship for the very first time.
I'll be glued to my TV watching the game this Friday at 5PM.
