At first look at this paddle I was very excited. The Halo SLK 16MM XL looks like a great paddle. When you take it into your hand, the spongy grip makes you feel "at home" with the paddle right away. Beyond that though, compared to the other paddles I've tried, the impressiveness ends.
This paddle is a nice paddle, but it has a slightly smaller surface than a few of the ones I have used and other than feeling comfortable in my hand, I didn't feel like it gave me my best game.
The surface feels good for topspin (the only "spin" I even try for at this point in my game), so there are good qualities to this paddle, but it's not near the top of my favorites....in fact my next review will be my actual favorite so far.
If there is a specific brand and / or style of paddle you'd like me to try out, let me know.
