The Selkirk Invikta Vanguard LONG Paddle is a variance on the very popular paddle I've seen on pickleball courts all over the place. I like this paddle, especially the longer paddle face, and the surface is solid and creates a true contact point, so for most pickle ballers, this is actually an improvement on the standard model.
But then there's my specific needs. I have two different grips for my serves. I use a standard grip, (which for me is only about 75% successful- not good enough), and a grip that looks a bit like I'm holding a ping pong paddle (effective service rate is well over 90%). The problem with this paddle is that when I use the more accurate grip for serving, my finger poke through the "hole" at the base of this paddle face- that makes this paddle one that I might like, if I never used my "accuracy" serve. Since for now I still use that grip when getting the serve correct is necessary, this will not be the paddle for me.
I would still suggest that any of you who use a standard '"handshake" grip try this paddle out. Other than during the serve for just me, this is an excellent paddle.
...and remember.. if you need a 4th, I have paddles, and will travel!
