I have suffered from neck pain for many years from a car accident that has caused a chronic condition. I stay away from drugs, so I wanted to try something different to see if it works.
My friend Denise at Jara Acupuncture down in San Diego, offered to give me a treatment to see how I like it.
The first question always asked is "does it hurt?" or "do you feel the needles going into your skin"...
My answer to that is NO. I lay face down on the table listening to the calming music and could barely tell that anything was going into my skin. So in my opinion there is absolutely nothing to fear.
I can also tell you that I did feel some instant relief in my areas of pain (neck and mid lower back), and that relief lasted several hours.
The big test for me was how I would feel waking up the next morning. That is usually the time I feel the most pain. The next morning after my treatment I felt fine!
I can't wait to go back for more.
