My weekend consisted of watching the weather and jumping on the courts when we knew they'd be dry for some pickleball, trying to get as many games in before the current rainstorm hit.
I played on courts at Vista Valley Country club- Now Called the Havens and at the San Diego Yacht Club.
At SDYC we were approached by an employee of the Yacht Club offering us the use of these new "silent paddles". Many outdoor courts located adjacent to condos or apartments have been getting complaint about pickleball noise. The SDYC decided to buy these silent paddles that are paddles with a carpet pad like surface on them, and to ask players who play on their court closes to the condos to use them.
We tried them out and found them surprisingly similar to our current regular paddles!
According to Owlpaddles.com these are "The first paddle qualifying for USA Pickleball’s new Quiet Category, OWL paddles reduce the noise of your game by more than 50%. More play, more times, more places. Not just quieter. OWL’s proprietary technology means better play in every way, for every skill level. From comfort to power to precision"
