The first causality of the Padres season may be...the firing of their equipment manager! With the game close in the 8th inning Gavin Lux hit a fairly soft ground ball to Padres first baseman Jake Cronenberg, and the ball busted right through the web of his glove!
Subsequent singles by Mookie and Ohtani put the Dodgers up 5-2 in the 8th and they went on to win the first game of the regular season in Seoul South Korea!
It was worth losing sleep over, although I'm going back to bed after I get off the air at 10 this morning.
The one thing I found very disturbing about the game was the Korean cheerleaders cheering and singing and making lots of noise DURRING PLAY- it was a nonstop cacophony of noise that made the game hard to listen to. It had to be distracting to the players too.
Nonetheless, a Dodgers win over the Padres is just how the season should start for me.
Go BLUE!
