For most of us the COVID pandemic was a very difficult period to go through. There was fear, stress, and in many cases, boredom because there was so much we could NOT do.
I decided early on that if I was stuck at home, I'd try to be productive. Luckily, just before the pandemic, I had my staircase redone in hard wood (the carpet was pretty awful). So when everything shut down, I took paint that I already had and started painting.
One of my first projects was to paint the stair railings in a matte black, a color that I went on to use in many other part of my house. On the surface it looks like a pretty simple paint project, but when you have to paint these rails all the way around you have to use a smaller paint brush and paint very carefully.
It was a good way to pass the time while we were locked down and at least feel like I accomplished something during that frustrating time.
