While the Dodgers were mired in their recent 5 game losing streak, which was clearly from a lack of hitting, I kept saying that they should play "small ball" having those players not hitting sacrificing and bunting to sacrifice- which is exactly how the winning started.
In game one of the Mets series the Dodgers continued to look anemic at the plate, but when the got a runner on and were threatening to tie the game in the ninth, Roberts called for Turner to bunt. He did. It worked! The Dodgers went on to win that game in the 10th, and then swept the doubleheader yesterday with a 3-0 win.
Today the Dodgers got back in their hitting groove scoring 10 runs, including 2 homers from Will Smith and another from Ohtani.
They swept the series and after a day off tomorrow will resume getting back on track as they get back home and start a series with Rockies on Friday.
