I had a red tandem kayak in the past that I called Big Red. I got several years of great use our of and really liked it. But after many years it got worn and developed a hull leak that made it so that it could barely float anymore..so Big Red got "retired".
Last year I picked up a free canoe from a neighbor who was moving and couldn't take it with them. Not being a "canoe guy" I wheeled and dealed and traded the canoe for another red tandem kayak. But Big Red 2 sat not being used for year. Now that I have a truck I can load it and take it to the water. Today i did that and it worked fine...it still needs lots of "cosmetics".. but it floats nicely.
Next up.. finding a boat buddy who will let me put the kayak in their marina boat slip.
