I looked around and found some very basic helpful tips if you have a pet that you know does NOT enjoy fireworks. I don't actually think any pets do, so let's look out for them.
At least one person should make the sacrifice of staying home with the pets. Perhaps rotating that responsibility each year.
Keep your pets indoor starting in the morning.
Close, the curtains, and doors and windows to keep as much sound out, and when it comes fireworks time...turn on the TV or Radio 94/5 to create sound distractions.
Feed your pet in small doses, and a few times when its time for fireworks- another way to distract them.
There is a pet tranquilize out their called Trazodone, but I would only consider this if your pet experiences extreme anxiety.
Don't let the pets outside as soon as the firework shows end. There still might be "private fireworks" later, plus the traffic makes it additionally dangerous.
Pets are family, and we have to think about them on this anxiety ridden pet day.
