Lake Elsinore Awarded $8 Million in Funding for Water Quality Improvements

Here's great news from the City of Lake Elsinore:

Federal funding is on the way for Lake Elsinore! The City has been awarded $8 million in the FY26 federal budget to support critical water quality improvements for our region’s only natural freshwater lake.

The City of Lake Elsinore is proud to announce that $8 million in federal funding has been included in the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill for the Lake Elsinore Water Quality Project. The bill, which was approved by the House Appropriations Committee last week, now moves to the House of Representatives for consideration.

“We are incredibly grateful for the $8 million in federal funding included in the FY26 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill for the Lake Elsinore Water Quality Project,” said Mayor Brian Tisdale. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Congressman Calvert for his steadfast support and leadership in championing the health and sustainability of our region’s only natural freshwater lake.”

The Lake Elsinore Water Quality Project aims to advance critical infrastructure and ecological improvements that support the long-term health, vitality, and safety of the lake. The funding will help address water quality challenges, protect local wildlife habitats, and enhance recreational access for both residents and visitors.

“Our community has made lake restoration and resilience a top priority,” added Mayor Tisdale. “This investment marks a major step forward in ensuring Lake Elsinore remains a vibrant and thriving natural asset for generations to come.”

The City looks forward to continued collaboration with federal, state, and regional partners to implement this transformative project.
