Residents Invited to Engage in Temecula’s First Emergency Evacuation Plan

Here is the info from the City of Temecula:

The Temecula Office of Emergency Management invites residents to attend a Community Evacuation Meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 6:30 pm at the Civic Center Conference Center (41000 Main Street) in Old Town Temecula.

This important meeting marks a significant milestone in the City’s commitment to public safety, as Temecula develops its first official Emergency Evacuation Plan.

In recent years, natural disasters—including wildfires, floods, and extreme weather—have impacted communities across California, the nation, and the world. These events serve as urgent reminders of how critical it is for cities and residents to be proactively prepared before an emergency occurs.

The City of Temecula is taking action now to ensure the safety of its residents by creating a plan that is clear, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the community. As part of this effort, the City strongly encourages residents to be involved in the planning process.

Residents who attend the meeting will learn how evacuation zones are determined, be introduced to the City’s new “Know Your Zone” System, find out how to register for emergency alerts, preview the upcoming Evacuation Website, hear directly from local public safety agencies, provide feedback and ask questions to help shape the final plan.

City of Temecula Council Member Matt Rahn states, “A safe community is a prepared community. By involving our residents early in the process, we can build an evacuation plan that reflects the unique needs of Temecula. We encourage everyone to take part in shaping a safer, stronger future together.”
