Today is National Burrito Day! Here's My Unusual Favorite

National Burrito Day 2026 is celebrated all day today, featuring major deals and freebies across the U.S. to honor the popular, portable dish.

The burrito likely originated in Northern Mexico in the early 1900s as a portable, flour-tortilla-wrapped meal containing simple fillings like meat, beans, or cheese.

My favorite burrito is something very different....

When I lived and worked in Santa Barbara I used to ride my bike to this marina every weekday and almost every day get this burrito for lunch. Sushi Go Go a "Superman Burrito" a big slice of salmon sushi with crab meet and rice all wrapped in white seaweed....delicious...and they view aint bad either....
