This is the photo I have been talking about on the radio and here's the story from the man who did all the research work and solved the mystery, Adam Gimbel:
"After a three decade search, a mystery musician has finally been identified in a photo with southern California radio veteran Dwight Arnold and DJ Steve West. Posted to his Facebook page along with dozens of other photos with 80s new wave superstars, this photo with Arnold, West and an unknown backstage interviewee has stumped thousands of music fans worldwide since 2008. San Diego musician and friend Adam Gimbel took on the stumper during the pandemic by putting it on his music page, Yer Doin' Great, putting it out to Reddit sleuths and getting it shared by music sites for years. Last week, popular Denver-based page Slicing Up Eyeballs shared the photo with its nearly 300,000 followers and Denver musician Numina suggested a musician from a famous band. Their identity was confirmed by a bandmate on a private Facebook fanpage. In a Youtube video, Gimbel revealed the secret to Arnold after they recounted years of fun searching and Arnold's long history of interviewing the greatest musicians of all-time.
