The origins of this day are unknown, but the phrase “name your poison” originally refers to what many bartenders say as you order an alcoholic beverage. The phrase is now used when anyone must choose from several options, though it’s suggestive that which ever option was chosen would be just as bad as the other one, hence the word “poison” being used.
The "poison" we often order during our sailing trip to St Maarten last year was call a "Bam Bam"- The Bam Bam is a highly popular, refreshing, and fruity tropical cocktail in St. Maarten. Famous across the island’s beach bars, it perfectly combines the rich, rustic notes of dark rhum agricole with the sweet, tangy brightness of fresh passion fruit.
...and it does provide quite the little "kick"....especially if you have 2....hence "Bam Bam"...
