More sad news today, Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode has died at the age of 60. The band announced his passing this afternoon via their Twitter account.
Fletcher formed the pioneering English electronic/industrial band in 1980 with Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Vince Clarke. Clarke left the group after their first album and Fletcher, Gore, and Gahan have been the core trio for more than 40 years.
There has been no word on the cause of death, but the band called his passing untimely and asked that fans keep Fletcher's family in their thoughts and respect their privacy.
